Small Fire Reported at Syracuse Apartment Complex The Syracuse Fire Department, Syracuse Police, and Syracuse Ambulance responded to a small fire at the Nob Hill Apartments on Lafayette Rd in Syracuse, NY. The fire was reported in the trash shoot on the 4th floor of building 3. Residents reported smoke and a burning smell. The fire department is currently holding the scene with 2 engines and a truck, while all other responders have returned to service. The building is a multiple occupancy apartment complex. No injuries have been reported at this time.

Update 3:45 PM: Firefighters on scene reporting fire is out, dealing with smoke in the structure. 

A motor vehicle collision occurred in Pompey, NY on March 3, 2023 at 8:02 PM. Pompey Hill Fire, Tully Ambulance and Onondaga County Sheriff responded to the scene at Route 20 and Seabury Dr. The collision involved a box van that crashed into a pole, causing wires to come down.

Update 8:06: Fire Department on scene report no injuries.

A motor vehicle collision occurred in Sempronius, NY at the intersection of Chestnut Ridge Rd and Richardson Hill Rd. The Cayuga County EMS responded to the scene where they found a single vehicle had rolled over. Four patients were injured in the accident and the EMS requested assistance from Onondaga County for an additional ambulance. SAVES Ambulance in route.

Syracuse Police Respond to Motor Vehicle Collision with Possible Injuries Syracuse, NY - The Syracuse Police Department responded to a motor vehicle collision on I81 South Bound, resulting in the closure of the right lane past the Clinton St. exit. The accident has caused traffic to slow in the area. The collision occurred on March 2, 2023, at 7:59 AM, and possible injuries have been reported. The Syracuse Police Department is currently investigating the incident. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible and to exercise caution when driving near the scene of the accident. Further updates will be provided as they become available.

Update 8:18AM: Traffic continues to be a problem on I81 South From the Destiny USA Ramp through the I690 East Ramp. Commuters should consider avoiding the area and find alternate routes into the city.

Update 8:29 AM: The police vehicles and accident vehicle have been removed from the right lane and it is now back open. Traffic continues to be slow in the area, but is returning to normal.

Syracuse, NY - A single car rollover accident occurred at the intersection of Catherine St and James St in Syracuse early this morning. The vehicle collided with a telephone pole guidewire, causing the car to roll over. The Syracuse Fire Department and Syracuse Police Department responded to the scene. Injuries were presented, but the extent of the injuries is currently unknown.

Crash on I-481 northbound ramp to Exit 9N; I-81 N (Cicero) exit lanes closed

Possible Full Arrest Reported at Brighton Towers in Syracuse, NY Emergency services responded to a call reporting a possible full arrest on the 6th floor of Brighton Towers, located at 1 East Brighton Ave in Syracuse, NY. The caller reported two people deceased in an apartment. The incident prompted a request for a sergeant and criminal investigators to the scene.

At 11:26 AM, Syracuse Police called for Syracuse Fire, Mini 18 dispatched, and requested NARCAN. A hazmat team was also requested to respond. Multiple ambulances from neighboring areas, including Fayetteville and Minoa, were requested. Unfortunately, some first responders were affected by the substances found on the scene and were transported to Upstate Hospital.

The hospital's ER was closed due to exposure issues and remained closed until 3:15 PM. City officials held a press conference and indicated that the incident was caused by a fentanyl overdose. Multiple fire, EMS, and police personnel were exposed at the scene, as well as multiple hospital personnel with secondary exposure. The investigation is ongoing.
